COACH
Ryan has been involved in athletics and training since childhood. He started playing traditional sports like baseball and basketball until he discovered his passion for martial arts when he was 12 years old. He studied Tae Kwon Do and Karate throughout his teenage years, gaining a black belt in the latter by the time he was 18. During his days at UW Madison he would study other arts: Aikido, Kendo and Ninjutsu, but his passion was reignited when he was introduced to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai. After graduating, he would later study western boxing and wrestling. In 1997, he competed in his first UFC-style competition and took his division, winning three fights in the same day. Ryan had his last fight in 2001 and maintained a winning record during those years. Knee problems later hindered his efforts to reenter the sport. In 2002, a friend suggested he turn to Olympic Weightlifting to stay in shape. A cursory internet search on the subject led him to CrossFit and he was soon hooked, both to the workouts and to the web community.
Ryan’s main goal is to use the tools he has learned to empower the lives of others, whether it be in their daily lives around the house, on the battlefields of foreign lands, in our city streets upholding the law, or in the pursuit of victory in athletic competition. Over the years he has worked with a broad range of clients including world class endurance athletes, national level UFC/MMA fighters, firefighters/fire science students, soldiers, law-enforcement personnel, high school/collegiate athletes, children and grandparents.
COACH
From gymnastics at a very young age to soccer, track, basketball, and volleyball, I have always had a love and a need, really, to move and play. As an adult for many years, the only way I knew of to stay active was to go to the gym and lift weights. While I learned from my bodybuilder friends how to properly execute an Arnold Press, or what an RDL was, I was missing something. I was missing the excitement of competition, practicing and honing new skills but mostly I was missing the camaraderie. Until I found Crossfit. Not only did Crossfit provide the gratification of learning new skills, and the satisfaction of pushing myself to new limits constantly, but through Crossfit, I also learned about nutrition, self-care, mental strength, and pure grit than I ever imagined I would. This was truly and quite literally life-changing.
As a coach, I want to share this passion and knowledge and help others become the best version of themselves.

For a long time I considered myself a “gym rat”. You could find me in the weight room, the cardio machines, in Spin class just about every day of the week. After having two kids, I was still plugging along doing the same boring routine when I given a challenge by a family member to complete a triathlon. I started participating in both triathlon and running events in 2004 and have completed a variety of sprint and half ironman distance triathlon, as well as cycling events, half marathons, 10K and 5K races, with a full marathon on the horizon in 2012. In 2005 I began to help others achieve their triathlon goals from the coaching side as part of a team of coaches providing group training for women.

Hello! My name is Mya Moore. Although both of my parents have been doing CrossFit since I was 8 years old, it wasn’t until my junior year of high school that I was interested in trying CrossFit.
Growing up I tried and played just about every sport I could, with soccer always being my main sport. However, after 10 plus years of playing soccer I decided that it wasn’t something I cared to continue. With this change I needed a place to put my competitive energy so I decided to give CrossFit a try and immediately fell in love.
I am one of the younger athletes at the CrossFit 100 but there has never been a moment where I did not feel part of the family that has been created over there. I get to meet so many amazing new people from all walks of life. The inclusiveness, positivity, and the determination in the atmosphere is what made me want to get my Level one. As a coach my goal is to keep this atmosphere every day to give the people of the community a safe and happy place to get stronger physically and mentally. For me CrossFit has made me a better person in every aspect of my life and I am overjoyed to be help make others better as well!

Hola and Hello! My name is Marcela Perea. I am Colombian and moved from Paris to the US in 1996. I’m married with four great kids. In 2009 I got my AFAA (Aerobics and Fitness Association of America) Certification and started training clients. The year of 2009 was when I left my career as a fashion designer to pursue my true passion – fitness – full time. Soon after, my clients’ enthusiasm and successes demanded further fitness offerings, so I began teaching small group boot camps. It was around that time that I discovered and fell in love with CrossFit.
In 2010, I achieved my Level 1 CrossFit Certification and began implementing some CrossFit workouts into my boot camps and personal training sessions. I felt so strongly about the benefits of CrossFit that I decided to get to get all the certifications I could and always working on getting more. I am truly a CrossFit certification junkie! CrossFit has certainly changed my life in a big way. It is fun, challenging, and effective for me, and my clients. Once you see the benefits of CrossFit, I know you will feel the same way.
