I have spent 38 years avoiding exercise because it scared and intimidated me. I’ve always made excuses and comforted myself with “well, you’re a book person, not a workout person.” Not any more. In the 4 months I’ve been working out with Marcela I have learned SO much about exercise, fitness and nutrition. What do think about CrossFit 100 by MPower?
I have been an athlete all of my life. After having kids my body never fully rebounded no matter how hard I ran, swam or biked. I have been working with Marcela for 1.5 years and have seen a body transformation in that time. I am visibly stronger and believe I have a healthier attitude towards food and exercise than I did before. I also love the combination of the cross fit with my old routine of running, biking and swimming. It has made my old activities more fun. An added bonus to the exercise is the camaraderie of the people I have met while training with Marcela, I am lucky to call them my friends.

As a stay at home mom, former gym rat, and nutrition enthusiast I’ve spent the last few years in a rut. I lost my motivation to work out hard and fuel my body nutritiously. I kept searching for something (books, gyms, yoga studios, bike racing) to help me get that spark back that had kept me going daily (for years!) when my kids were younger. I finally decided that it must have had to do with needing an hour or two break from my babies/toddlers every day, and that for whatever reason now, having the kids gone all day made it MORE difficult to get my workouts in. I thought that was it, and I’d never get it back. When I walked into Marcela’s studio the first time I wasn’t immediately enthusiastic about what I saw. It’s a basement. There are no windows. It looks too small for 10 people to work out. I wasn’t so sure. Boy was I wrong! I can’t even put my finger on what exactly it is…but from that first class forward, I got my mojo back. It’s not about the room, or the wall color, or the view. Marcela really knows her stuff, and she’s living proof of what one can achieve if they put their mind to it. Her attitude and her enthusiasm are contagious. There’s no more dragging myself out the door to get to the gym anymore. The workouts are fun and I’m excited to go and see how I will be challenged each day. Thank you Marcela!!

I had been a runner for years before coming to MPower. I would run at least 3 miles a day 4-5 days a week, occasionally lifted weights, and it was getting me nowhere! I felt good but never saw a change in my weight or body composition. Since I started training starting with Marcela, I have found muscles that I didn’t know existed. I love the variety of the things we do and she provides great instruction along the way. She is always challenging me to do more and encouraging me to keep trying the things I have not yet mastered. I started my first MPower session in May of 2010. My daughter was one year old and I thought I was in for one four-week, early morning session, just to “jump start” my fitness life after two kids.
